Reliance Ultra Band Lok

Ultra Band Lok™ from Reliance Orthodontic Products was patented and introduced in 1996 and has become the most popular band cement in use today. What is Ultra Band Lok? Chemically speaking, it is a light cure compomer cement combining both traditional composite and glass ionomer technology. In addition, Ultra Band Lok contains a monomer that bonds chemically to metal, resulting in superior band retention and minimal cleanup at the time of debanding. The single paste requires no mixing and is of a viscosity that can be easily placed in the band. Once the band is seated, illuminating the occlusal flash for 2 seconds will make the paste rubbery and removable in one piece without clogging buccal tubes. A quick 30 second cure around the top of the band will cure the paste and allow for immediate appliance activation or ligation.

Other benefits include a high level of fluoride release and your choice of tooth color or high visibility blue shade. The blue shade paste provides a high contrast for residual paste removal both at initial band seating and for clean up when the band is removed.

Ultra Band Lok is a very versatile material in that it can be used for bonding large acrylic appliances and fabrication of composite bite turbos. Ultra Band Lok is available in a push style syringe or a Luer Lock syringe with disposable tips. Often imitated, but never duplicated, Ultra Band Lok is one of the most popular and versatile orthodontic cements available today.
