Reliance SEP

Reliance SEP™ (self etching primer) has earned the reputation as a convenient, economical and strong etch/ prime system for orthodontic bonding. There are several self etching primers on the market today but there are features that distinguish Reliance SEP from the competition. First and foremost is bond strength.

The April 2009 issue of the Texas Dental Journal, “A Comparison of Shear Bond Strength Among Different Self Etching Primers” reported “In five of the six groups that compared the primers, Reliance SEP had the highest bond strengths.”

An in-vivo study conducted at the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University in March 2010 reported “Based on the statistical results derived from this study, the following conclusions were drawn: 1. The Reliance S.E.P. is a suitable alternative to the commonly used Transbond Plus S.E.P. as it showed clinically fewer bracket bond failures in this study.”

Reliance SEP has a unique, economical dispensing system compared to competitive systems. A replaceable cartridge with a push bottom dispenser releases the perfect ratio of A & B liquid into a mixing well. Each button press dispenses enough etch for one full arch. The specially designed mixing well has a sliding, light impervious shield which will keep unused etch for up to 6 hours eliminating waste. Each disposable cartridge provides enough etch to prepare at least 50 full arches with replacement cost that’s about half compared to similar systems. Assistants comment that our system is also “cleaner” and less messy to use since the microbrush shaft is not continuously soaked in etch.
